KNOXVILLE, TN (June 7, 2012) - The Knoxville Nighthawks are gearing up for their final home game this Saturday, June 9th at the Civic Coliseum against the Richmond Raiders.
Knoxville's inaugural season started at home and is now ending at home against the Richmond. The last two meeting between the two have not come out in the Nighthawks favor.
“We played Richmond back to back early in the season and they whipped up on us pretty good both times. We feel like this week’s game will be a good measuring stick of how much we have improved. We are eager to redeem ourselves for those two previous games against them,” said Head Coach Chris MacKeown.
Nighthawks kicker and former Tennessee Volunteer, Alex Walls is coming off of an exceptional game against Albany last week that landed him the Professional Indoor Football League Week 11 Special Teams Player of the Week.
“Alex is a solid, steady performer with great character. In last week’s game, he kicked like the kicker that we all know he is. He definitely deserved the Special Teams Player of the Week after hitting three uno’s in that game and scoring 16 points alone,” said MacKeown.
The Nighthawks will return home this Saturday, June 9th at the Civic Coliseum to take on the Richmond Raiders with kickoff being at 7pm. This week’s game is Fellowship Night presented by K-Love Radio. There is a special group ticket special available if purchased in advance of $6 per person for groups of 15 or more. “Uno Deals” will be available at the concession stands with $1 hot dogs and $1 small sodas. Children 12 years old and younger can receive free admission with a regular priced paying adult ticket.
